Gulabo Sitabo Movie Review

gulabo sitabo movie review

The much-awaited and first movie to be released on the OTT platform before getting a theatrical release is here!

The story, Screenplay and Dialogues:-

The Story, Screenplay and simple authentic lucknowi dialogues were well handled by Juhi Chaturvedi.

Ayushmaan Khurana (Bankey) with all other tenants lives in a Haveli (Fatima Mahal) and Amitabh Bacchan (Mirza) is their landlord. An argument takes place between all these people and Gyanesh from Archaeological department, Christopher Clarke as Lawyer comes in the picture. All these people are after this Haveli. Amitabh Bacchan can only get the ownership of Haveli after the death of his wife. So what happens at the end, who gets the ownership of Haveli is what story is about. Well if you love simple realistic theatre-like content you will love this movie

This is a light-hearted drama, the screenplay is quite simple and normal.  Lucknow based movie “Gulabo Sitabo” is not standard Bollywood fare. There is no singing, no dancing, unlike any other Bollywood movie.

The dialogues are quite good but nothing heart touching or worth remembering. They have tried to make the Tom and Jerry relationship between Amitabh Bacchan & Ayushman Khurana the highlight but after a point it’s boring.

Music Direction is given by Shantanu Moitra, Anuj Garg and Abhishek Arora. Songs are slow-paced but with good lyrics. They take the story a little forward.

Amitabh Bacchan looks weak in his old man look as well as Ayushman Khurana in his young man look who has his own family responsibilities. Everyone has played their part really well including supporting actors.

It’s Pretty Good and Simple but could have been better.

Overall, Gulabo sitabo is a One time Watch and with a short message that “Don’t Love too much – Whether it’s a Person or Thing .”

Our Ratings:- ⭐⭐⭐ out of 5.

Produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar, the movie is available on Amazon
